Charles Edwin Page Jr. (Charley) Obituary

Pahrump, NV - CHARLES E. PAGE, JR.

03/15/1942 - 05/24/2025

Charles Edwin Page, Jr. died in his Pahrump, Nevada home at 1050 Gee Street on May 24, 2025. He was 83 years old.

Charley was born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma and grew up in and around Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri, where he learned to love both hunting and fishing.

After graduating high school in Eminence, Missouri, he enlisted in the army. Upon returning home, he married Jayne Rader in 1964. The couple moved to Alaska in 1969, where they expanded their family with two children: Nathan in 1974 and Jana in 1978. While living in Alaska, Charley was able to hunt and fish to his heart's content. He caught an 80 lb king salmon and provided many meals of moose meat for his family.

Charley and Jayne divorced in 1983, and Charley married his second wife, Mei, in 1984. After living on the West coast for a number of years (in Bodega Bay and Rohnert Park, CA), he and his wife moved to Pahrump in 2007.

While Charley was good at anything he tried, he was a particularly gifted mechanic, welder, and carpenter. His mechanical skills were mostly self-taught, but he picked up welding while in the army and learned carpentry in the carpenter apprentice program in Alaska. He loved to learn and would read manuals of all kinds "just for fun."

Charley enjoyed deep sea fishing, clam digging, camping, and making his own beef jerky. Due no doubt to his love of hunting, he developed an interest in firearms and became a federal firearms dealer. He also participated in Civil War reenactments, for which he built his own historically accurate cannon.

Charley was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edwin Page, in 1989; his mother, Wilma Gene Page (née Adams), in 2016; and his half-brother, Michael Leroy Page, in 2019.

Charley is survived by his wife, Mei Page (née Trawicki); step-children Garrett, Wyatt, and Tammy Harding; his ex-wife and the mother of his children, Jayne Rader; his son, Nathan Page; his daughter, Jana Page; his brother, James Page; his sister, Sandra Chapman; and several grandchildren.

Charley was cremated and no services were planned. Pahrump Family Mortuary handled arrangements.
