GLORIA JOAN STURGEON

Gloria Joan Sturgeon, 84, peacefully passed away at her home in Pahrump, Nevada, on December 26, 2025 surrounded by family and friends. She was born at home in Dry Ridge, Kentucky on December 28, 1940. Joan lived a long and vibrant life defined by kindness, humor, and an enduring concern for others. Those who knew her remember Joan as a natural storyteller.

Joan, who moved to Pahrump with her husband in the 1960s, loved to entertain family and friends with her tales of Pahrump when it still was a little Wild West town. She loved cooking, gardening, butterflies, and Elvis. Her passion was searching every thrift store and garage sale for treasures to share with family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Please honor Joan's memory by treating others with kindness, touching a stranger's life, and keeping her legacy of care alive.

She is survived by her sister Rose (Joe) Fields; her daughters, Kaye (Dave) Valdez, Melodie Eleogram, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at 341 North David on February 21st, 12 noon to 4pm.
