August 9, 1941 - March 30, 2025
Joan "Joanie" Arlene Park, a 16-year resident of Pahrump, Nevada, passed away March 30, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born August 9, 1941 in Hensonville, NY, and moved to Anaheim, CA in the early 1980s. She eventually followed her adult children to Pahrump, where she was an avid reader, and enjoyed baking and parties with her family. She was the biggest fan of her eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Pahrump Walmart shoppers heard Joanie often, making announcements over the store intercom, closing with her bright, cheery signature "Thank you!"
Joanie is survived by children Elisabeth Orzechowski of Nebraska; and Irene Dunlap, John Orzechowski, and David Orzechowski, all of Pahrump. She was preceded in death by husband William Leighton, son Peter Orzechowski, and daughter Mary Nielsen.
