WILLIAM B. THIENES

February 19, 1941 - July 5, 2025

"Bill T" of Pahrump, Nevada, passed away July 5, 2025 at the age of 84. He was born in New York on February 19, 1941, to Edith Fowler Thienes and William "Terry" Thienes.

He graduated from high school in San Bernardino, California, and attended business school in Reno. He served in the Army for two years beginning in 1962.

Bill T married Judy Mitchell, and they shared 48 happy years together, living in Pahrump for 40 years. Between them they had five children, who graced Bill and Judy with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He worked in professional sales at The Pahrump Valley Times, and sold mobile homes at the various Pahrump dealerships.

He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed Jazz music. He was seen driving about town proudly in his classic '70s lavender Cadillac.

Bill is survived by his wife, Judy Mitchell, and three of their children: Robert (Sharon)Thienes of Waynesboro, PA; Colleen (Billy) Sullivan-Baker of Reno; Shawn (Warren) Sullivan-Stotlers of Reno. He is also survived by daughter-in-law Pia Thienes of Pahrump.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, his son William Brandon Thienes of Pahrump and New Mexico, and his step-son Kevin Sullivan of Reno and Germany.

A Celebration of Life will be planned in the future. Memorials or donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T 2 T), or the St. Jude Organization.
